“The House version of mental health parity legislation, the Paul Wellstone Mental Health and Addiction Equity Act of 2007 (H.R. 1424), is expected to come before the House for a vote on Wednesday, March 5. How do you think passage of a comprehensive mental health parity bill would influence your practice and our profession as a whole?”

This kind of bill will allow all patients to be treated as they need. I think that this could permit work on prevention too, from the moment when a comprehensive treatment would permit to have the greater variety of pathological problems under treatment. Many times patients do not receive the treatment they need because some of their problems (e.g., schizophrenia and alcoholism) can' t be treated as a whole.
